President
Ashton Oliver
Ashton was born and raised in Toledo, growing up in Sylvania Township and attending Sylvania Schools; she graduated from Southview High school in 2005 and graduated from the University of Phoenix with her degree in Psychology with a specialization in Family and Child welfare. Ashton is happily married with five children: her stepchildren, Elliott and Eva, are Southview students—a senior and sophomore, respectively. Her son, Matthew, is a Southview sophomore and plays cello in the orchestra; her daughter, Adrianna, is an eighth grader at Timberstone and plays the French Horn in the band, and her youngest son, Chandler, is in third grade at Central Trail. In addition to being our Booster President, Ashton also works for Promedica Genito-Urinary Surgeons, and in her free time enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Treasurer
Barbara Saltzman
Barbara moved to Toledo with her family in 2007. She is an Epidemiologist and Associate Professor of Public Health at the University of Toledo. She has served as treasurer for other non-profit groups in her free time, including Mother’s Center of Greater Toledo, and currently Troop 2 of Erie Shores Council, Boy Scouts of America. Barbara met her husband Dave at summer music camp when they were still in high school. Dave is Principal Tuba with the Toledo Symphony and Glimmerglass Opera as well as a professor of Tuba and Euphonium at BGSU. Her oldest daughter Eve was a Southview Chamber Orchestra member until she graduated in 2022 and still plays the violin. Her son Isaac SV ’25, plays the double bass in Chamber Orchestra, and her youngest, Benji will be entering Southview (SV’28) this fall playing in both band and orchestra programs on French Horn and Violin. Barbara, a former oboe player and choral singer, currently enjoys music from the audience and throughout her home..

Secretary
John Beck
John was born and raised about 45 minutes west of Toledo in Ridgeville Corners. John graduated from BGSU with degrees in computer science and education. After working at Owens Corning in Toledo, he spent 23 years teaching in the Sylvania school system. John is married to Mike Rosania. His son, Jonathan, is a sophomore at Kendall College in downtown Chicago. His daughter, Michaela, is a senior at Southview and is a cellist in the chamber orchestra. They love to travel when possible and Mexico is one of their favorite destinations.
